Julie offers a flexible distance training format, mixing pre-recorded theoretical sessions and interactive virtual classes (via Teams or Zoom). 

As part of our comprehensive training course “THE FUNDAMENTALS OF STRATEGIC WATCH”, Julie offers each participant the opportunity to interact with her on a daily basis in a discussion forum (via Yammer, Slack or Teams). 

An expert trainer in strategic watch to support you

All our training courses are created and delivered by Julie Defoort. 

Julie is of French nationality and has been living in the United Kingdom since 2016. With dual scientific and competitive intelligence skills, she has worked for more than 10 years in the biotechnology sector. 

She has held the positions of scientific monitoring and documentation manager, training and technical communication manager, and competitive monitoring manager. 

 She also taught monitoring methods and software tools (part-time) in a Telecommunications engineering school for 2 years.

WORKSHOP 1: Introduction to competitive intelligence

This is the first workshop in the “Fundamentals of Strategic Watch” training course. It can be delivered alone or in combination with other training workshops.

This workshop introduces the concepts of economic intelligence and business intelligence. Organisational, collaborative and strategic watch management aspects are included in this training.

No. This training workshop is suitable for beginners, as well as for practitioners wishing to structure their methodology and / or reposition monitoring within their organisation.

Workshop 2: Manage competitive intelligence in project management style

This is the second workshop in the “Fundamentals of Strategic Watch” training course. It can be delivered alone or in combination with other workshops. 

Goals 

This workshop covers the first step of the monitoring cycle The monitoring objectives. It gives you a solid foundation to start your business intelligence project. The first fundamental step that we deal with in this workshop lies in framing this activity and in understanding the needs of your internal customers.

Workshop 3: Selecting your sources and efficiently collecting information

This is the third workshop in the “Fundamentals of Strategic Watch” training course. It can be delivered alone or in combination with other workshops. 

Goals 

This workshop covers the Sourcing” and Collecting” stages of the monitoring cycle. It gives you the keys to detecting, qualifying and monitoring the relevant sources of information related to your strategy. Our goal is to help you prioritise quality over quantity. We are also introducing tools and best practices to save time when collecting information.

Workshop 4: Analyse business intelligence to transform information into strategic intelligence

This is the fourth workshop of the “Fundamentals of Strategic Watch” training course. It can be delivered alone or in combination with other workshops.

This workshop covers the stage of analysing the information from the previous day. It introduces the different levels of analysis, fundamental analysis methods and tools to facilitate and / or complete your analyses. 

For whom?

This is the fifth workshop in the “Fundamentals of Strategic Watch” training course. It can be delivered alone or in combination with other workshops.

This workshop covers the Diffusion” and Data Management” stages of the previous day. It helps you understand your internal customers and define the right communication methods for your organisation. It also provides you with the basics of Data Management on information from the day before.
